The Vocational School of Akureyri has taken our challange to Icelandic schools to be the first and therefore get a free setup of an LTSP server on their network. We hope to have the system ready for use by the fall.

With this their IT Administrator, Adam Ásgeir Óskarsson, wants to offer students access to disk-less clients and get greater speed and security and yet lower costs. The system is set up on hardware that already exists within the schools IT infrastructure so the financial risk for the school is as low as possible.

Our plan is to showcase this project as our first LTSP setup in an Icelandic school and we put high hopes on this projects success. Read more about LTSP for the schools here.

Interestingly we will set the system up via a remote connection to VMA's network. Stefna ehf does the prelimenary setup for us to connect to the system.
